Peter Schmutzer, PhD, LP, is a Licensed Psychologist specializing in individual psychotherapy with adolescents and adults and psychological assessment with children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Schmutzer provides treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, trauma/Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self-harm behaviors, and personality disorders. He utilizes an integrated theoretical approach to treating psychological/psychiatric disorders and emotional problems. In addition, Dr. Schmutzer performs diagnostic psychological evaluations, adult ADHD evaluations, and pre-surgical evaluations for individuals preparing for weight loss and spinal cord stimulator surgeries.
Dr. Schmutzer received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Dakota and completed his pre-doctoral internship at a Nebraska consortium consisting of the Norfolk Regional Center, Behavioral Health Services, and the Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk, Nebraska. He completed his post-doctoral residency at Center for Psychiatric Care, The Richard P. Stadter Psychiatric Center, and Assessment and Therapy Associates of Grand Forks. In addition, Dr. Schmutzer holds adjunct faculty status at the University of North Dakota Psychology Department.
