Karen Pietras, PhD, LP, is a Licensed Psychologist who provides therapy to adults, adolescents, and children as well as couples and families. She uses Humanistic, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral approaches. She received specialized training in Behavioral Medicine which treats physical conditions with psychological strategies, such as relaxation training, hypnosis, and imagery. She also conducts Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). CBT-I is a treatment that works for improving sleep.
Dr. Pietras completed her doctoral training at the University of Wyoming with a pre-doctoral internship at the Baylor College of Medicine. She received her Master's degree at Connecticut College with a pre-Master's internship at the Yale Behavioral Medicine Clinic. Prior to joining ATAGF, Dr. Pietras worked for 24 years at an inpatient mental health unit and an outpatient mental health clinic in Minnesota.
